VINTAGE 1972 MEMOSAIL REGATTA YACHT-TIMER CHRONOGRAPH WATCH VALJOUX 7737 MOVEMENT
Vintage 1972 Memosail ’regatta’ yacht-timer chronograph watch Valjoux 7737 movement.
This interesting gentlemen’s chronograph was manufactured in 1972 specifically for yacht racing. The chronograph function, once started counts down on the yellow rotating scale from ten minutes to zero when the word ‘start’ can be seen.
The movement used is a specially adapted Valjoux 7750 and the example that we have here is in excellent condition. I have rarely seen a 7750 movement as clean as this one, which is testament to the wonderful case design which has protected it perfectly over the years.
The beautiful blue dial is in exceptional condition with absolutely no flaws and the hands are the original luminous filled items. The very large chrome plated case measures 45.5mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 45.5mm tip-to-tip. The case is in very, very nice condition with no noticeable wear to the chrome plating which is very unusual with these watches.
The screw down back is stainless-steel and also in excellent condition with no marks, gauges or scratches what-so-ever. Included with the watch is an instruction leaflet for this model. A superb example of this rare watch and in a condition rarely found.
