VINTAGE 1970 14KT GOLD ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE MODEL 15007 ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE ORIGINAL BOX ETC
Vintage 1970 14kt gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual date model 1500/7, absolutely immaculate, original box etc.
This beautiful gentlemen’s Rolex Oyster Perpetual date and is in truly outstanding condition. It has been used only a handful of times since it’s last full service. This is a solid 14kt gold-cased model 1500/7 (the ’7’ denotes it’s 14kt gold case).
The model 1500 series use the Rolex calibre 1570 automatic chronometer movement, which is one of the finest and most reliable produced by the company.
The case measures 35mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 42mm tip-to-tip. The gold case is in pristine condition, with no dings or scratches and the smooth bezel is also absolutely perfect. The watch still has the protective sticker intact on the back from the last service. Retaining the original brushed satin finish with polished sides, this is one of the nicest gold oysters that we have had in a very long time.
Fully hallmarked on the back of the strap lugs with Swiss 14kt gold marks.
The original sunburst silvered dial with black printing is absolutely beautiful, with contrasting polished gold baton divisions and crown. The dial is completely flawless in every respect and any marks that you see in the photo’s are on the glass or reflections only. The polished gold stick hands still retain their original luminous filling.
The original crown is still present and in perfect condition with no wear what-so-ever. The bracelet was replaced by Watches of Switzerland in 1986 with a new gold-plated example, a common occurrence with vintage models due to the expense of replacing the solid gold bracelets. It is the correct 78351 bracelet for the 1500 with solid end-links and fits perfectly to the watch, with no unsightly gaps. Exactly the same gold colour as the watch, you would find it very difficult to distinguish it from the solid gold one. The watch will fit up to a seven and a half inch wrist.
Complete with the original presentation box, which is in excellent condition, service documentation from the last service and documentation from watches of switzerland regarding the new bracelet etc. A really exceptional example of the early 70’s oyster perpetual date, you will struggle to find another in this fine condition.
