VINTAGE 1969 TUDOR PRINCE OYSTER-DATE AUTOMATIC WATCH MODEL 7206 WITH MINT SLATE GREY DIAL

Vintage 1969 Tudor Prince Oyster-Date automatic watch model 7206 with mint slate grey dial.

The Tudor watches which have always been the budget range by Rolex have seen an immense surge of popularity over the last ten years or so and this lovely 1970’s model is a prime example.

Manufactured in 1969 by the serial number between the lugs 733156, this model 7206/0 prince oyster-date has everything that you would want in a vintage Tudor. This was the first year of the new range of Oysters from Tudor with a fresh new look and logo, much more akin in looks and size to their Rolex date-just cousins.

Measuring 34.5mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 41mm tip-to-tip. The case is in superb condition with no dings or scratches and just a little wear to the back commensurate with mild use over the years.

The starburst slate grey dial is outstanding original condition, i have never seen a better one than this. Signed ‘Tudor Prince oyster-date’ and ‘rotor self-winding’ below. The polished baton numerals and Tudor shield complimenting the grey dial perfectly, with matching luminous filled hands (which no longer glow unfortunately).

The movement really is in exceptional condition. eta calibre 2784 automatic with quick-set calendar and hacking seconds, very nicely finished . The rotor swings nicely, hands set correctly and the date clicks over swiftly at 12 as it should.

The original crown screws down tightly and unscrews as it it were new. The back locates nicely on it’s thread also, screwing down and unscrewing perfectly.

The stainless-steel oyster-type expanding bracelet is not original to the watch, but the watch came to us with this fitted and we think that it suits the watch perfectly. We will however include a new, quality alligator-grain leather strap to the buyer along with the watch should they wish to change it.

This is a wonderful late 1960’s Tudor in exceptional condition which looks fabulous on the wrist, not many left like this.
