VINTAGE 1969 OMEGA CONSTELLATION DAY-DATE CALENDAR C CASE WATCH GREY DIAL CALIBRE 751
Vintage 1969 Omega Constellation day-date calendar ‘c’ case watch grey dial calibre 751.
This fabulous gentlemen’s Omega was manufactured in 1969 for the German market and retailed by the German retailer ‘Beck & Schupp’ of Pforzheim.
The model 168.019 Constellation calendar uses the Omega calibre 751 automatic chronometer movement with full day-date calendar and the example that we have here is in ‘as-new’ condition, the movement is as clean as when it left the factory in 1969.
The steel case measures 35mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 41mm tip-to-tip. The stainless-steel ‘c’ shape case is in exceptional original condition, with no dings or serious scratches and the bezel is also absolutely perfect with no wear what-so-ever or dings as they usually have.
The original grey dial is very nice condition, with contrasting polished silver baton divisions and black inserts. Grey dials are seldom seen and the sword hands are also in perfect condition, still retaining their original luminous/black filling.
The original crown is still present and in perfect condition with no wear and the glass is the original with the tiny omega symbol to the centre.
The watch works faultlessly and keeps very good time, not surprising as the calibre 751 movement is one of the finest of it’s day. These ’c’ case constellations always look much better on a leather strap than the bracelet versions, as the original bracelets were a little ugly and this example was on a strap from new, retaining the original ‘omega’ buckle.
We have however fitted a new quality alligator-grain strap strap for you.
This watch looks superb on the wrist, a superb example of the now very collectable ‘c’ case.
