VINTAGE 1966 18KT GOLD OMEGA CONSTELLATION C CASE CYCLOPS CALENDAR WATCH FULL-SET

This fabulous gentlemen’s Omega was at the top of the companies range in 1966 and is unusual, having the ’cyclops’ magnifier over the date window which is seldom seen.

The model 168.017 constellation calendar uses the Omega calibre 561 automatic chronometer movement and the example that we have here is in exceptional original condition, the movement is as clean as when it left the factory in 1966.

The 18kt gold case measures 35mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 41mm tip-to-tip. The ‘c’ shape case was one of the largest of any constellation and these also contained the highest content of gold, consequently it is a very heavy watch. In pristine condition, with no dings or scratches and the bezel is also perfect, with none of the wear or dings that they usually have.

The back is in very fine condition, with no gouges or scratches from being opened by amateurs as they usually have. the observatory medallion is also still in very good condition and the watch retains the original brushed satin finish with polished edges.

This is certainly one of the best condition constellations that we have had in a very long time. The back unscrews and screws down perfectly as it should.

The original sunburst gold finished dial with black printing is absolutely beautiful, with contrasting polished gold baton divisions and date window surround.

These dials are solid 18kt gold in manufacture and this one is absolutely flawless in every respect, any marks that you see in the photo’s are on the glass or reflections only.

The original Omega crown is still present and it is fitted with the original glass with ‘cyclops’ magnifier over the date including the tiny Omega symbol in the centre.

The watch retains what appears to be the original period lizard strap and Omega buckle, which is still in excellent wearable condition. However we will include a new, quality alligator grain leather strap should the buyer wish to change it.

Complete with the original boxes and owners wallet with booklets, very unusually printed omega ‘constellation’ on both the inner and outer boxes which we have rarely seen before, this is a rare and valuable box on it’s own. A really beautiful example of the ‘cyclops’ model constellation and a super example of the now very collectable ‘c’ case.
