VINTAGE 1964 18KT GOLD OMEGA CONSTELLATION CALENDAR WATCH BRITISH DENNISON CASE ORIGINAL BOX & STRAP WITH 18ct BUCKLE.

Vintage 1964 18kt gold omega Constellation calendar watch, British dennison case, original box & strap with 18ct buckle.

This fabulous gentlemen’s Omega was the pinnacle of the companies constellation range in 1964. A rare example, cased in Britain under licence from Omega by the case-maker A.L.D. Dennison, hence highly sought by British Omega collectors.

This model 1685415 constellation calendar uses the Omega calibre 561 automatic chronometer movement, manufactured a year earlier in 1963 and the example that we have here is in exceptional original condition. The movement is as clean as when it first left the factory.

The outstanding 18kt gold case with tear-drop lugs measures 35mm across the bezel not including the crown and 43mm tip-to-tip.

In very fine original bright yellow un-polished condition, with no dings or serious scratches.

The back is in very nice condition, with no serious gouges or scrapes from being opened by amateurs in the past. The observatory medallion is also still in perfect condition.

This is certainly one of the best condition constellations that we have had in a very long time.

The back unscrews and screws down perfectly as it should. Signed inside by the manufacturer A.L.D. Dennison along with the Omega watch co. logo, Birmingham hallmarks for 1964 along with ‘made in England’ are present along with a tiny 18ct mark to the rear of one of the lugs.

The original silvered sunburst gold dial is quite superb, with contrasting polished gold baton divisions and date window surround. These dials are solid 18kt gold in manufacture and this one is absolutely flawless in every respect, any marks that you see in the photo’s are on the glass or reflections only. The hands are the original dagger examples with black inlay.

The original omega crown is still present and it is fitted with the original glass including the tiny Omega symbol in the centre.

The strap was replaced last year with a new one from Omega at a cost of £750 and is absolutely beautiful. Alligator grain with a solid 18ct gold buckle and still in as-new condition.

The watch is complete with the original boxes, including the rare card outer box. A really beautiful set of the scarce British made constellation and a highly collectable Omega.
