VINTAGE 1962 OMEGA SEAMASTER CALENDAR STAINLESS STEEL RARE CALIBRE 591 AUTOMATIC WATCH ORIGINAL GREY DIAL & BRACELET

This fabulous Omega Seamaster model ‘168.005’ is in outstanding original condition considering the age of the watch. Housed inside the stainless steel water-proof case we find the very scarce Omega calibre 591 automatic winding movement, which was the very first to use the new 360 degree rotor.

Manufactured in 1962 by the serial number 19692091. This model automatic came directly after the demise of the earlier ‘bumper’ movements.

The case is in very, very nice original condition, with no dings or serious scratches of any description and retaining the correct polished finish with brushed satin sides.

A substantial case with heavy strap lugs which measures 34.5mm across the bezel not including the crown and 43mm tip-to-tip.

There is a little fine rubbing to the back from gentle use over the years, but no serious scratches or gouges where it has been opened by amateurs in the past.

Fully marked omega inside the back with individual model number and watchmakers instructions.

The original grey dial, with simple baton divisions is in very, very good condition, with just a little patina of age. The polished silver dauphine hands are the originals as is the ‘clover-leaf’ winding crown.

These early Seamaster automatics have real character, this one still retains the original Omega ‘beads of rice’ bracelet, which is still in excellent condition and will fit up to an 18.5cm wrist.

a really beautiful watch in every respect which looks exceptionally handsome on the wrist.
