VINTAGE 1954 OVERSIZE 18KT ROSE GOLD CHRONOGRAPH WATCH VENUS 150 MOVEMENT.

Vintage 1954 oversize 18kt Rose Gold chronograph watch Venus 150 movement ’as-new’ condition.

This fabulous vintage chronograph was manufactured in 1954 and is beautifully cased in 18kt. Pink Gold.

This is a very large watch, measuring 38.5mm across the bezel (not including the crown) and 45.5mm tip to tip. Fully hallmarked with Swiss 18kt Gold marks and individually serial numbered. There is also a tiny 18kt hallmark on the side of the case.

The beautiful original silvered dial has contrasting gold Arabic figures and 3 colour printed inner 60 second scale, inner telemeter and outer tachometer scales. The dial is signed by the maker ‘Itraco’ along with ‘17 Rubis Chronograph Suisse‘.

The high quality Venus 150 movement with column wheel is in stunning condition. It does not look to have had any use what-so-ever in fact. All of the screw heads are perfect, there is no discolouration and it runs faultlessly.

The watch is in remarkable original condition, in close to ‘new old stock’ condition i would say. Swiss cased gold watches of this era are very difficult to date, as the Swiss hallmarking system makes little sense.

Helpfully there is an intriguing personal engraving to the back of this watch giving the date of the 19th February 1954 and the name ‘Minnie’. Beautifully hand engraved and helps us date the watch to 1954.

Fitted with a new quality alligator-grain strap. This rare and very beautiful chronograph looks amazing on the wrist, you will struggle to find another in this wonderful condition.
