LATE 1930’s LANDERON 37 ‘FLYBACK’ CHRONOGRAPH IN WONDERFUL ORIGINAL CONDITION.

Late 1930’s Landeron 37 ‘flyback’ chronograph in wonderful original condition.

This unusual watch was manufactured during the late 1930’s just prior to the begining of word war two and has all of the attributes somebody going into the services would look for the chromed case with fixed strap bars measures 34mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 41mm tip-to-tip.

The movement used here is the scarce hand-wound Landeron 37 ‘flyback’ chronograph . This is a three-pusher chronograph, with the 3rd return to zero or ‘flyback’ pusher in the centre of the winding crown.

The movement is in first class condition and working perfectly. Winds and sets as it should with the chronograph starting and snapping back to zero promptly.

The original two-tone silvered dial is truly amazing i must say. The ‘scientific’ type layout with outer tachometer, inner telemeter scales and 5th of a second interval divisions for the chronograph.

The smaller inner luminous filled one to twelve figures and hands take a back seat to the chronograph functions here, as is usually the case with ‘scientific’ dial layouts, but still very easy to see in low-light conditions.

The very unusual long-tailed red painted centre seconds hand gives points to the fact that this watch was made for accurate timing of events.

The watch is in fabulous original condition throughout, with just a few light scratches to the case and back. quite possibly still fitted with the original British-made leather strap (though we will include a beautiful open-end croco-grain strap with the watch).

A very collectable military style wristwatch, in a condition rarely seen.
