1960’s VINTAGE ORIOSA LARGE WATER PROOF CHRONOGRAPH IN FINE ORIGINAL CONDITION
1960’s Vintage ‘Oriosa’ large gentlemen’s water-proof chronograph in fine original condition.
This good looking gentlemen’s chronograph was manufactured during the early 1960’s by the Swiss manufacturer ‘Oriosa’ and really is a sweet watch.
The large chrome case measures 37.5mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 43mm tip to tip. The watch has never been polished and the strap lugs with chamfered shoulders still have perfect sharp edges. The original winding crown and pump-pushers are still in great condition.
The starburst silvered dial is really quite stunning. With outer telemeter scale and inner 60 minute circle, complimented by tritium luminous baton divisions. The hands are the original polished silver with tritium luminous inserts. Signed by the maker ‘Oriosa’ who appear to have manufactured some very, very nice quality chronographs.
The Landeron calibre 248 movement is of very nice quality, finished to a good standard and in super clean condition. Winds and sets correctly and the chronograph operates flawlessly.
The watch is in fine original condition throughout, with just some light scratching to the back from mild use over the years. A very pretty chronograph on the wrist, this is a great little watch & your first chronograph buy perhaps ?
