1960’s VINTAGE LEGION STAINLESS-STEEL CHRONOGRAPH TRITIUM DIAL NEW-OLD-STOCK CONDITION.

1960’s vintage ‘Legion’ stainless-steel chronograph tritium dial ‘new-old-stock’ condition.

This very pretty gentlemen’s chronograph was manufactured during the early 1960’s and really is a sweet watch.

In very close to ‘new-old-stock condition, the all stainless-steel waterproof case measures 36mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 44.5mm tip to tip.

The watch has never been polished and the strap lugs with chamfered shoulders still have perfect sharp edges. The original large steel winding crown and pushers are still in great condition.

The silvered dial is really quite stunning. Three colour printing of the tachometer and telemeter scales along with polished silver dagger divisions with luminous dots. The tritium luminous filling of the dots and hands still glows brightly, which is very unusual to find. Signed by the maker ‘Legion’ who appear to have manufactured some very, very nice quality chronographs.

The Landeron calibre 248 movement is of very nice quality and does not disappoint, finished to a good standard and in ‘as-new’ condition. Working perfectly as it should, winds and sets correctly and the chronograph operates flawlessly. Keeping excellent time also we have found.

The watch is in exceptional original condition throughout, with just one tiny nick to the edge of the bezel at seven o-clock, though we do not believe that this detracts from the beauty of the watch.

A handsome chronograph on the wrist, this is a great little watch, your first chronograph buy perhaps ?
