1960’s ‘DREFFA’ AUTOMATIC DIVERS WATCH WITH BAKELITE BEZEL & TRITIUM DIAL

1960’s ‘Dreffa’ automatic divers watch with bakelite bezel & tritium dial.

This very cool divers wrist-watch was manufactured toward the end of the 1960’s.

The large, all stainless-steel cushion style case measures 40mm across, not including the crown and 45mm tip-to-tip. The rotating bezel with fine milled coin edge has a two colour silver and blue bakelite insert.

With individual 1 minute divisions up to 15 minutes, then continues in 5 minute divisions up to 60. very clear easy to read, even in low light conditions, with tritium triangular zero marker.

The fabulous black dial signed simply ‘Dreffa-Geneve’ and ‘20 atmospheres-automatic’ with the tritium mark either side of ‘Swiss-made’. The super clear, heavy tritium dot markers and matching hands confirm that this watch was made for one thing only, professional diving.

The oversize crown with twin seals is very easy to operate. The case back marked as water-proof to 20 atmospheres, equivalent to a depth of around 200 meters and with individual serial number.

This watch is powered by a good quality automatic movement with calendar and is in fine condition, running well and keeps very reasonable time. Still complete with the original blue rubber tropic-sport strap. 

A super-cool watch in 100% original condition throughout, exactly as it should be.
