958 C.H. Tissot Seastar Visodate Automatic, stainless-steel waterproof with original box.
Early vintage Tissot watches, which have always been overlooked in favour of their sister company ‘Omega’, have seen a surge of popularity over the last ten years or so and this lovely 1950’s model is a prime example. In super condition throughout and completely original in every respect.
Manufactured in 1958 by the serial number on the movement, this Seastar Visodate was C.H. Tissot’s version of the Omega Seamaster calendar. Measuring 35mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 42mm tip-to-tip.
The silvered dial is original and in absolutely perfect condition. The polished baton numerals and Rolex Explorer style 3-6-9-12 figures compliment the dial perfectly.
The movement is in superb condition. full 360 degree rotor automatic with calendar, beautifully finished and working perfectly. The rotor swings nicely, hands set correctly and the date clicks over swiftly at 12 as it should. The original crown is still present, signed ‘Tissot’. The waterproof snap-on back is stamped ‘waterproof’ and snaps closed very tightly, as it should.
Complete with it’s original presentation box, which it has clearly spent most of it’s life in. This is a wonderful 1950’s Tissot, in fine condition and is fitted with a new quality alligator-grain leather strap.
