1950’s VERY RARE HERMES 18KT PINK GOLD CIOCCOLATONE AUTOMATIC WITH ORIGINAL STRAP & BOX

Vintage 1950’s very rare Hermes 18kt pink gold ‘Cioccolatone’ automatic with original strap & box.

This fabulous watch was manufactured during the late 1950’s and retailed by the Paris jeweller ‘Hermes’.

Typical of the elaborate case designs from that period, the 18kt pink gold ’Cioccolatone’ case is truly wonderful. With stepped bezel, flared, down turned strap lugs and slightly curved to the wrist.

It is a rare watch and a large size, measuring 31mm across, not including the crown and 40mm tip-to-tip. The case is in absolutely faultless condition, there are no dings or scratches, no wear at all in any respect and it has never been polished or repaired in any way.

The silvering of the dial has very slightly discoloured over time and has acquired some very light speckling. This does not detract in any way from the beauty of the watch and i can not stress enough that the pictures do not portray the stunning quality of this piece.

The automatic movement with 360 degree rotor is of very, very good quality and is adjusted to three positions.

Fitted with what appears to be the original crocodile skin strap with Hermes buckle.

This watch , as you would expect looks absolutely amazing on the wrist. An exceptionally stylish watch of wonderful quality and a true rarity.
